A new alliance has been forged.

Your intrepid troubadour has teamed up with Howard from the Halifax ads to make a protest song.

“I’m not outspoken, but I feel I must speak out,” says Howard. “Everybody’s so angry.”

“What Happened?” premieres this afternoon on YouTube at 4.30. In just 30 minutes. Don’t miss it.

With music by Noah Fleetwood, this soulful ballad exudes the 1980s groove of Luther Vandross and Michael McDonald, but with lyrics by yours truly, who also produced and directed (along with Will Thomas Freeman) this not-to-be-missed video.

It features comedian, Leo Kearse, as a 6ft 7, transgender, unconscious bias trainer.

With dancers from backgrounds ranging from grime to the English National Ballet.

And vocals by soul legend, Beverley Skeete, who has sung with Chaka Khan, Tom Jones, Tina Turner and Jamiroquai, and by Irish comedienne, Aideen McQueen, who knows one of the blokes from Father Ted.

Click here to see what the nation’s favourite bank clerk has to say, as he goes once more unto the breach of the Culture Wars.

“One thing hasn’t changed,” says Howard. “My glasses are still slipping down my nose.”

For goodness sake, share this on the internet somewhere.

After the YouTube premiere the video will be made available on all social media, with the song itself on Spotify, Apple Music and all music platforms. Enjoy.
