You never know with the viral videos.
Sometimes you think something’s going to smash, and nobody’s interested. Other times you’re reluctant to even put something up and it goes bananas.
That was the case with We’re All Far Right Now. I thought it might be a step too far. It wasn’t. It had over 50 million views after Elon Musk shared it.
It might have got 50 million views on X. On Facebook it got 487. You never know.
So it was with Roy Larner’s surprise appearance in the Ballad of Roy Larner. I didn’t think we played the song particularly well that night, and I was reluctant to put it up. Half a million views across the net later, and some incredibly supportive comments, I ask myself what was I worried about?
In any case, thank you to all the new subscribers that have signed up as a result.
We have recorded four new songs, and shot videos for two of them, but Goat, my director, editor and bass player, has been out for three weeks now with what we thought was Covid, but turns out might be pneumonia or something worse. We say a prayer and wish him well. But it means I have no video for you today.
Instead, for your visual stimulus, we have a new poster for you. This is for The Mid-Year Review, which takes place in London on May 20.
I rather like it.
The End of the Year Show was one of the most amazing nights ever. This should be just as good. Do come!
This week I’m in Oxfordshire (Wallingford) tonight, then Manchester on Thursday and Leeds on Friday for Comedy Unleashed, with a full show in Birmingham on Saturday

PS While we are doing posters, here’s the one for the above Modern Life is Tricky dates. Which do you prefer?
I prefer the Mid-Year Review poster. The Modern Life is Tricky one looks like a magazine cover, not that that would put me off buying tickets if you came to Brighton. I dare you… 🙂
Wow half a million views! Im taking full credit for that appearance Dom😂
You'll have to buy me a drink when you see me.... seed oil free of course😂😂
