I have been working on a coat of arms for the fam.
It’s been designed by heraldic artist and calligrapher, Tom Meek, and every element has a little story behind it.
The crest, naturally, is a crowned poodle - why would you have any other animal? He’s holding a quill and resting a paw on an ancient book, representing writing and literature.
The nine gold bezants represent gold, money and finance. Nine is my lucky number - I was born on the 9 day of the 9th month in the 69th year of the century beginning 19. I should have made one of the bezants a bitcoin but I forgot. The bezants also have links to Cornwall, an area to which we have close ties. Remember I intend eventually to be the inaugural President of the Independent Republic of Kernow.
The Frisian water lily represents my family name’s Frisian origins. The star represents Italy and my mother’s Italian roots. We are as Vecchione as we are Frisby.
The lyre is for music, composition and poetry. The theatre masks represent the stage. The green chevron represents protection and notable achievement, also the distance you should keep on the motorway from the car in front.
And then there are the two Latin mottos.
The one at the bottom is Non Aequum Est, Nolite Sero Venire, which translates as: “It’s not fair and don’t be late.” This was my late father’s favourite saying.
The one at the top is Iube Eos in Malam Rem Abire, which translates roughly as: “Tell them to f*** off.”
So I think I have incorporated everything.

Beautiful, I want one now. But I feel there should have been a frisby in there somewhere.
Love it! Thank you for sharing!
